Scatec Solar Sukkhar
Scatec Solar Sukkhar
Project Overview
At the Scatec Solar 150MW site in Sukkur, our team conducted complete testing and commissioning of three interconnected grid stations. These substations are critical to one of Pakistan’s largest solar energy projects. The scope involved high-voltage diagnostics on all major equipment to ensure operational readiness, grid compliance, and seamless integration with the national transmission system, in full alignment with IEC and NEPRA standards.
Testing Scope
The testing included a full range of substation components:
-
Auto Transformers (ATRs), Earthing Transformers, and SVCs
-
Capacitor Banks and Neutral Grounding Resistors (NGRs)
-
Grounding mesh continuity and individual equipment grounding
-
Compliance with IEC/NEPRA using Omicron and Intereng test sets
Key Testing Procedures
ATRs were tested with CPC 100 and FRANEO 800 for winding resistance, turns ratio, vector group, SFRA, and Tan Delta. Earthing Transformers underwent IR, ratio, and burden testing. SVCs were validated for thyristor functionality, harmonic filters, and control logic. Capacitor Banks were checked for capacitance, IR, contact integrity, and inrush response. NGRs were evaluated for insulation and thermal behavior. Ground mesh resistance testing ensured safe fault dissipation.
Project Documentation and Impact
All results were documented using Omicron PTM software and delivered per Scatec QA and regulatory protocols. This project enhances Pakistan’s renewable infrastructure by enabling efficient solar energy transmission while meeting all technical and safety benchmarks.
